Konami have announced it will release an expansion for the popular Metal Gear Online. The game came packaged with Metal Gear Solid 4 has proven to be a hit with fans and been a worldwide success. The expansion will include new maps, characters and a new mode.

The new maps consist of “Coppertown  Conflict,” which has players battling in wide streets; “Tomb of tubes,” a labyrinth of underground passages and “Sprawling Vista” which is ideal for medium/long range combat (with its outdoor location). The new game mode, “Survival,” is all about staying alive. Players will be able to buy new gear with their points at a new shop. Meryl and Johnny join the fight with their own unique skills. Finally there’s the option to create female soldiers. 

The expansion will be available on the 17^th July and will cost 9.99 euro which is approximately £7.98.
