Sony News - Firmware 2.40 Pulled Offline

If you eagerly camped out for the release of Firmware 2.40, then kudos. If you aren’t as psyched about the update to the PS3, then signing onto the PSN today would have resulted in a big nothing. The reason; Sony received a “Limited number of calls” from PS3 owners reporting that their console was ‘bricking.’ Sony have pulled the update from the servers and will re-release it once the problem has been isolated. We’ll keep you updated on the much talked about 2.40 update that brings trophies and in-game XMB support to the PS3.

They say a limited number of calls...but to me it sounds as if they are just trying to cover up their mistake by putting an obvious emphasis on how "few" calls they have recieved....lol
