There’s good news for MMO fans today as FireSky have announced that their MMORPG Stargate Worlds is about to enter closed beta. You can register for an account over at the official website and hope that you’re lucky enough to get chosen. The press release doesn’t state a date for the actual beginning of the beta, but invitations will be going out between spring and summer. Dan Elggren, the studio head behind the game said; “A game is nothing without players. We’re fired up to finally get our game in the hands of the community. We’re at the point where we need external testers to take Stargate Worlds to the finish line. Our devoted fans have helped guide us for more than two years through our forums. Together, we’re going to craft a balanced, polished, and most of all, fun game.” Be first to comment this article |

Ubisoft have quietly announced on their website that they are working on a patch to address many of problems that players have encountered in Assassin’s Creed. There have been graphical glitches and crashes reported so expect those to be at the top of the list. Although it’s generally good news for gamers, it also carries a blow for DX10.1 adopters, as the patch will remove the option to play Assassin’s Creed with the DX10.1 features. This is down to the removal of a DX10.1 graphical renderer engine which has been causing instability. There’s no release date for the patch as of yet but expect to download it here as soon as becomes available. In the mean time be sure to check out our review of Assassin’s Creed. Comments (6) |

Back in 2006 when everyone was going crazy for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, another similar RPG was released for PC only which sadly got less attention from the gaming public and the developers. Since then patches (both official and community wise) have solved its bugs but it’s stayed in the shadow of Oblivion for the past two years. We’ve got good news for anyone who still has Gothic III, in the form of the announced today expansion pack ‘Forsaken Gods.’ It’s promising more RPG loveliness which will “guarantee a seamless step to gothic 4.” More good news there. The expansion is slated for a Q4 2008 release. Comments (9) |
