Supposedly the next best thing since World of Warcraft (don’t worry, our review is on the way), Age of Conan is going down a storm. Funcom have made is known today that they’ve shipped over one million copies in under three weeks. Half of that number is down to the US and Age of Conan had reached the top spot in the sales charts. They’ve pumped out some statistics, mainly the fact that 8 million unique visitors have visited the website from over 200 countries. If you want to know what the deal is, check out the official site and add to the tally of 8 million. Check out some screenshots below. Be first to comment this article |

Today is a strong day for gaming, and if you factor in its officially summer, it’s supremely surprising. Ninja Gaiden 2, Everybody’s Golf 2 and LEGO Indiana Jones are all due out today. For PC owners, there’s Dracula Origin a new adventure game from Frogware Sudio. We’ve been covering the game with screenshots, which look mighty taste. It’s got a rich world inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel, a deep story and point and click gameplay. After our review of Penny Arcade Adventures, our faith has been suitably restored. The environments are 2D yet detailed and the characters, 3D. Expect our review to appear shortly and sink your teeth into some eye candy below. Comments (4) |

It is news that’ll make PC gamers everywhere quiver with fear. Crysis, the notoriously power-hungry 2007 FPS is receiving its follow up in the form of Crysis Warhead. It is supposedly a “parallel story,” which will ship later this year. It’s supposedly been built on an upgraded and ‘optimised’ version of the CryEngine. Cevat Yerli, the CEO of Crytek had this to say, “We were very pleased with the reception of Crysis from both gamers and media after our launch last year. That being said, one of the key principles of our studio is to always raise the bar. With Warhead, we are focusing on refining our storytelling and game performance, while also delivering more of the visually stunning graphics and immersive free-roaming gameplay everyone loved in Crysis.” Players will take control of Psycho from the original game and play through the story through his linked perspective. There are new details due this summer but in the meantime, read up on our Crysis review, while enjoying the packshot below. Comments (9) |

Yesterday, the new ‘inuitive-combat’ MMO Age of Conan shipped across the UK, fulfilling its 700,000 preorder quota which 111,000 of those were collectors’ editions. Morton Larseen, Funcom’s VP of Sales and Marketing said; “Everyone in Funcom is delighted and humbled with the historical pre-order numbers for Age of Conan. If the information we have is correct, they represent the highest pre-order number for any global launch of an original PC game, ever, including the original World of Warcraft launch.” Age of Conan is also coming to Xbox 360, but we’re still without a confirmed date. It joins Rock Band’s eventual release which should keep consoles games happy for a while to come. Enjoy Age of Conan’s Launch Trailer below, (by watching it you are confirming you're 17 or older). Those still playing City of Heroes / Villains know this news already, but those ‘on a break’ should know it might be time for a revisit. Today saw the release of the Issue 12: Midnight Hour content update. It brings new Villain Epic Archetypes (Wolf Spiders and Blood Widows), new power sets (which can be seen here), and more character slots for players. It’s got two new areas inspired by the Greeks and Roman period. There’s a host of updates and tweaks to the interface as well. For those unaware of what City of Heroes / Villains is, head on over the official site. Expect our re-review along shortly. Comments (10) |
