Turbine has been running a free trial for Lord of the Rings Online to mark the release of Book 14, the latest content update for the popular MMO. The Ring-forges of Eregion will go live tomorrow (Thursday 24th July) during scheduled maintenance. It’s the sixth (completely) free ‘content update’ for the game which sees the Fellowship depart for Rivendell. We previewed Imperium Romanum a while back and came to the conclusion that it was a title worthy of purchase, but little people would actually do that. That hasn’t stopped Kalypso Media developing the expansion of the Emperor Expansion. There are 16 new missions that span ancient Europe from Bath to Hadrian’s Wall. There are new buildings, larger maps, new tasks and improved voice samples. It’s only £14.99 and it’s due at the end of July. Enjoy the four screenshots below. Comments (6) |

Kalypso Media has announced that their expansion pack for Galactic Civilizations II will be due out August 2008. The expansion will be stand-alone and won’t require the previous Dark Avatar / Twilight of the Arnor packs. The game will have new “Super” races and planets will have better environmental conditions. Endless Universe will find a range of improvements, new ships, larger galaxy, deeper technological development and new scenarios. It’ll retail for £19.99. Be first to comment this article |

KDV Games have just announced that they’re developing a sequel to the critically adorned RTS, Perimeter. It’s inventively named Perimeter 2: New Earth and the fate of humanity lies in a search for a New Earth. It’s bringing territorial warfare, transformable units, new RPG elements and a rich story.
