While it’s obvious that World of Warcraft will occupy the top spot in the MMO realm for a substantial period to come, it never hurts to be aware of upcoming alternatives and the best place to experience them for free is via a closed / open beta. If RTS’s are your territory then be sure to look at the ‘World’s First Collectable MMORTS’ called SAGA. From Silverlode Interactive, the Beta allows you to create a nation and test out the game. The realms (thanks to a stress test) can support 20,000 players without connection problems or crashes. If your interest has been tweaked then be sure to head over to www.playsaga.com to make an account.

If RTS’s aren’t your cup of tea then head over to www.playrequiem.com for a chance to play the Requiem: Bloodymare closed Beta. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where’s there is genetic manipulation as well as dark magic you’ll take control of the Temperion who are struggling for survival. The beta officially starts this Friday so be sure to try and get your key from either Fileplanet or the official site.
