PC News - Nvidia GTX 280 Specs Revealed

A lot of what is to come won’t make much sense to the average gamer, but for those that follow PC tech, get ready to orgasm. There’s been confirmation of the upcoming NVIDIA Geforce GTX 280 specs. It’s been developed via the 65nm process and it’s clocking in at 602MHz with 1.4 billion transistors. Shader wise it’s running at just under 13000MHz, with 250 cores. There’s 1GB worth of memory, (GDDR3) which generates 141.7GB/s. For anyone completely lost, it basically means that Crysis is no longer a problem.

How will this compare with the 8800 GTX or 9800 GX2 in real terms ?

Ive tested both these cards in SLI Mode and the 9800 GX2 was a poor second best. Ive have a 280 being delivered Tues.

Benchmarks suggest that it's got huge amounts of power. 2 Cards in SLi can supposedly run Crysis in resolutions over 2000
