Digital Distribution is here to stay and nobody can argue against it. On the PC there's Valve's Steam, Metaboli, Direct2Drive, Gamersgate, EA's download store as well as smaller publisher applications. In the news today was Stardock's (the publishers' behind Sins of a Solar Empire) announcement that their digital distribution platform, Impulse had officially gone live. The names on board span every gaming district, with AMD, THQ, Epic, Gas Powered Games, Hothead Games all signing up to supply their titles. It runs on both XP and Vista and offers a “cohesive, integrated virtual platform.” The Political Machine 2008 and Penny Arcade Adventures have both been added to tie in with the program's launch.
