EA announced today that their hit Skateboarding series Skate will be coming to the Nintendo family, both on Wii and DS under the new name, Skate It. The innovative FlickIt control system returns with a new twist, utilising the touch screen on the DS and the Wiimote of the Wii. On top of that is the Wii Balance board which allows gamers to be provided with better feedback. The Executive Producer of Skate, Scott Blackwood had this to say:

“We knew it would be an exciting challenge to bring the soul and feel of skateboarding to the Wii and Nintendo DS. With fresh new designs and gameplay components built from scratch, we’ve been able to; once again, capture the true experience of skateboarding in a completely innovative way.”

Skate It is due late 2008. Be sure to check the exclusive shots of the Wii version below as well as a trailer.
