Konami announced today that Castlevania Judgment is currently in development exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. The big shock is it’s the first game in the iconic series to be a fighting game. With characters that span across the 22-year history of the franchise, players can choose who they want to bring to victory in the epic battles through a variety of stages and interactive environments. Gamers will also be able to play head-to-head online, or unlock some bonus gameplay content by connecting with Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Antony Crouts, the Vice President of Marketing said:

“We wanted to take this addition to the signature Konami franchise in a direction that really sets it apart from the previous Castlevania titles in the series. The Wii Remote and Nunchuk capabilities, alone with the iconic characters, make this game the ideal entry point into the fighting game genre. This combination is certain to thrill old and new fans of the franchise."

The game’s due for a ‘fall release’ in the US, but no date for Europe as of yet.
