Cursed Mountain sounds like a ‘straight-to-dvd’ film. Instead it’s the latest title from Deep Silver. The exclusive Wii title takes place in the Himalayas with you controlling a mountaineer in search for this lost brother. Set during the 1980s you’ll come across plenty of dead villagers, pilgrims and mountaineers who are trapped in the ominous Shadow World. Their main aim is to scare the life out of you in a survival horror fashion. The game’s set for a 2009 release on Nintendo Wii only. UPDATE: Check out the artwork below. Nintendo’s biggest E3 announcement was the incoming ‘WiiMotion Plus,’ an add-on for the Wiimote that produces 1.1 tracking. Splitting the user base aside, it does seem like a nice gizmo. It seems that Nintendo are keen to push its improvements onto publishes and Ubisoft are happy to take up the better control. The sequel to (the lukewarm received) Red Steel will fully utilize the new device. We’ve yet to see any shots of the sequel, but hopefully this will shoot along the development. In a surprising turn of events, a Kotaku interview with SEGA’s President, Simon Jeffery; dropped the comment about Resident evil 5 on the Wii. He said that the game was a product that core gamers could look forward to. It could just be a misinterpretation, but the success of Resident Evil 4 on Nintendo hardware and the recent announcement of the Dead Rising port suggests otherwise. It’ll only be a matter of time until Capcom officially responds. Comments (1) |

A Texas Judge has denied Nintendo a new trial in their legal battle with Anascape over patent infringement. The original lawsuit sought to have Nintendo's Wii Classic Controller, Wii Nunchuk, GameCube controller, and GameCube WaveBird removed from sale, as they all were deemed to be in violation of an Anascape patent for a "six degrees of freedom" interface device. The Judge has found in favour of Anascape, and will be issuing a ban on the Wii controllers sometime today. However, this ban wouldn’t come into force until Nintendo’s appeal on the original ruling was resolved, and it could also be avoided by posting a bond or putting royalties into an escrow account, according to Bloomberg. The number of WiiWare titles just keeps growing and there are two new games this week. Pirates: Key of Dreams and SPOGS Racing are the two lucky entries. SPOGS Racing lets players race through a variety of tracks in either single player or split screen two player mode. It wouldn’t be a wacky racing game without a lot of power ups. In Pirates: Key of Dreams the goal is to retrieve a magical ‘Key of Dreams’ being held by the powerful pirate Blackbeard. The game involves navigating the seas utilising weapons like cannons or flamethrowers. Both games cost 900 points and are available for download via the Wii Shopping channel.
