Gears of War 2 is coming this November. There, that is out of the way. Now onto a full overview of Microsoft’s keynote speech at this year’s GDC (Game Developers Conference). Microsoft paved the way for 2008 as yet again another fantastic year for gaming. The biggest news (as already stated above) is that Gears of War 2, the sequel to the 4.5million strong original is landing on the Xbox360 come November. If that wasn’t enough for you Xbox owners, then there was plenty more announced. Fable 2 was showcased by Peter Molyneux and it showed off the dynamic cooperative play. As well as that was the knowledge that the ‘pub games’ found in Fable 2 will be downloadable and playable via Xbox Live Arcade and any fold that you win can be transferred to your Fable 2 character.
Had enough? Well if not then Ninja Gaiden II’s game sharing features were revealed; ‘Ninja Cinema’ is the ability to record and upload some of your best ninja moves to the ten million strong Xbox Live. As mentioned earlier today, Too Human was showcased to the press / world and showed off its slick visual, fluid multiplayer and customizable character. Aside the big budget releases are several interesting Xbox Live Arcade games. Braid is an Independent Game Festival Winner’s (Jonathan Blow) creation which plays around with time. Castle Crashers is a RPG adventure which lets up to four people hack and slash their way around the world. Defense Grid: The Awakening, Go! Go! Break Steady and finally Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness also join the mega console. All in all a well rounded day for Microsoft.
