It seems Cryptic Studios is to boldly go where no developer has gone before. Star Trek Online is official and there’s plenty to talk about on the official website. The official license has been acquired by Cryptic and come the Annual Star Trek Convention on the 10^th of August, gamers will get the first glimpse of some gameplay. Jack Emmert, the chief creative officer at Cryptic said,

“Star Trek was never about a single character, ship or even planet; Star Trek was always about an entire universe. And MMORPG’s are uniquely suited to created such a thing and allow players to explore ever inch.”

The game is being developed for ‘consoles’ and the PC and promises customisable ships, characters and crew. They’ve even been kind enough to release 9 screenshots that can be seen below.
