Gracing the Xbox 360 first, Rockband 2 will include at minimum, all of the songs that came with the first game (Which is around 300 tracks). Additionally, all of the Downloadable Content available for the first game will be instantly compatible with the sequel – so hold off on that delete button for the time-being.

The peripherals will also be compatible with the new title, however ‘upgraded’ versions will also be available, says Harmonix. More features to expect are improved online functionality, and an improved “party set-up”.

Alex Rigopulos, co-founder and CEO of Harmonix said:
