We’ve been given a chance to play test the preview code of Oxygen Games’ upcoming DS title, Pirates: Duels On The High Seas. Anyone who’s vigilant and follows Nintendo’s WiiWare phenomenon will recognise a similarity between this latest DS title and the aptly named Pirates: The Key of Dreams. Unsurprisingly the same team is at work on the DS game, porting the concept over to Nintendo’s handheld as a sequel. Be first to comment this article |

It’s that time of year again where we dig out old games, attempt to finish those uncompleted campaigns and unlock those elusive achievements. The PC World War II RTS, Company of Heroes is one such game. When we’re not playing that, we’re looking towards the future. We were lucky to get some hands on time with a similar title due out on the 12th of September; Men of War. Stemming from the underrated Soldiers and Faces of War, this latest foray into World War II looks to provide gamers with a much needed RTS fix. Here’s why you should sit up and pay attention to 505 Games. Be first to comment this article |

It’s a testament to NecroVisioN that we mistakenly kept calling it Painkiller. After all, it’s being developed by the same guys who did Painkiller and follow-up expansion pack. It looks to be running on a slightly improved engine. It seems to be focused on the identical fast paced, no-nonsense FPS action that we loved about its close cousin. Therefore a demonstration behind closed doors at 505 Games / 1C’s Summer Showcase was a fantastic opportunity to see a game that’s all about gaming. Comments (4) |

The curtains were closed and the lights turned off. With vodka in our hands, we were sat in a booth in London’s Ice Bar awaiting a presentation from Anatoly Y. Subbotin for Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason. Alongside IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, it was the game that 1C / 505 Games were pushing. Heralded as the ‘Russian Bioshock’ we eagerly awaited the gameplay demonstration. Comments (8) |

As we were ushered downstairs into the gloom of Regent Street’s Ice Bar there was an air of mystery. We’d heard of 505 Games / 1C’s portfolio, but nothing really concrete. We were plonked on a seat, in front of a large HD screen TV to gorge on IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. Comments (5) |

Mount and Blade couldn’t be any more understated. Its generic name does exactly what it says on the tin. Merging pseudo-strategy elements with hack and slash action over a RPG base; it has three genres worth of gimmicks to reap the benefits from. Its concept is unique and at a quick glance you’d be let off for passing judgement and moving swiftly on. This isn’t a game for the visual fans but one for those that appreciate gameplay. We’ve been given an exclusive hands on with the title to see what all the big fuss is about. Comments (14) |
