With only 2 months until release, the website for SEGA’s upcoming RPG, Sonic Chronicles has opened, ready for exploration. What makes it actually worth a visit, (besides the new information), is the user interface. It is near identical to that found in the game. In order to navigate the website users are encouraged to use a stylus controller (via the mouse) in order to move Sonic. An extra surprise comes to those that are patience enough to collect all those golden rings Sonic loves so much.

Check out the website right here.

Nintendo News - 2008's Upcoming Release Date List Revealed

Nintendo are well known for keeping its release dates close to their chest. It’s genuinely surprising when an entire list pops up on their website. The release schedule has dates for both the DS and Wii; first party and third party included. For Wii gamers there’s a huge variety of titles, such as Wario Land: The Shake Dimension, which was previously only planned for release in Japan. That should be touching down on the 26th September 2008. Other highlights are a placeholder date of August for the controversial title Manhunt 2, which sees players using a wide range of violent attacks on criminals.

For the DS, there are a few surprising announcements, one in the form of the 3rd Phoenix Wright game. With the 4th game titled Apollo Justice already out, fans were concerned that Europe would miss out entirely on the 3rd game, but Nintendo have finally put up a release of the 3rd of October 2008.  For more release dates on all the other titles head over to Nintendo’s main site here.

Obviously, being the video game industry, everything is subject to change.

GTAIV was released to critical fanfare and record-breaking sales, but that didn’t mean it was without technical faults. While we had none, they were obviously wide spread enough to warrant the release of a patch. All you have to do is launch GTAIV when connected to the internet and it’ll download and install automatically. Patch log as follows:

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to enter or exit vehicles in GTA Race.
  • Fixed an issue where scripted vehicles were causing games to unexpectedly crash. Improved reliability and frequency of PS3™ online leaderboard updates.
  • Fixed a rare hang some players encountered when moving from a Race or GTA Race lobby into gameplay.
  • Fixed a hang that would occur when players were switching teams during the countdown in the lobby.
  • Fixed an issue where players were able to get ridiculously high scores from Cops ‘n Crooks matches.
  • Changed GTA Race and Race so that the last player remaining always receives a reward of $250.
  • Fixed an issue where spectating players would prevent the game from finishing.
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to spectate in Round 2 of Cops ‘n Crooks games.
  • Changed countdown timer in lobby so that it no longer resets when new players join a game.
  • Changed the kick option so that kicked players are no longer brought back to single player.

News - Chart Roundup 24th June
Written by Marco Fiori
Tuesday, 24 June 2008

There’s unusual going-ons this week in the UK charts. It wasn’t a surprise that last week Metal Gear Solid entered straight at number one with the announcement today that it has shipped a million units in Europe. What is peculiar is that Lego Indiana Jones has traded places, shunting in into second place. Multi-platform anyone? Alone in the Dark enters at a strong third which puts Grand Theft Auto IV at number four, with Wii Play just below it. Codemasters’ Grid stabilises at number eight and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII joins in at number ten. Top Spin 3 cashes in on Wimbledon with a number twelve appearance and Ninja Gaiden II drops to number twenty.
