Got some post-Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket? Well head over to the Nintendo Virtual Console for this week’s hit of retro goodness. For 500Wii points you can pick up the classic Bubble Bobble (1-2players) originally on the NES. It’s a simple enough concept; try and trap enemies with bubbles and then pop them. There are over 100 levels on offer with both single player and multiplayer modes. The bubbles rise due to differing air currents, which adds to the challenge of the game. It’s a nice little title and a look-in if you enjoy your arcade puzzlers. If popping bubbles seems a tad mild for you then for 800Wii Points you can pick up the 1 player Genesis title Light Crusader. You take control of the knight Sir David and have to investigate why townspeople are disappearing from Green Row. This action RPG has you fighting monsters and solving puzzles in a bid to save the kingdom. The final title; Top Hunter (for 1-2 players off the NeoGeo) is a side-scrolling classic which has you fighting your way through four distinct worlds. It’s priced at 900Wii points and is worth the time if you’re interested in reliving decent side scrolling games. For footage of Light Crusader, click here. Be first to comment this article |

According to the official 3D Realms website, today will see a Duke Nukem Forever teaser trailer. The game has been in developement since the dawn of time and this news has driven the gaming community into overdrive, so much so that the oringial post in the forums has crashed the site. The original forum post reads: "Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas Party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise. It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party. They created a short teaser for Duke Nukem Forever.
After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it's just a teaser, rest assured more is coming.
Tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th, around noon CST, we will release the first teaser trailer from Duke Nukem Forever. To tide you over until then, here is a screen shot taken from the teaser.
Thank you for being fans of the game and for your continued patience."
Here's a screenshot taken from the oncoming trailer. More news as it arrises. Update: The Trailer is now available and can be seen here. Be first to comment this article |

Tomorrow, (Tuesday 18th December) will see the PS3’s Firmware version increased to 2.10. Included in the update is a voice changer that’ll allow you to change the tone of audio devices. You can use the feature while video / voice chatting with friends and experiment with the 5 presets and Bass sliders. A further audio feature in the update is the ability to enable Bitmapping, which has the objective of improving audio reproduction. The most interesting and probably most important feature is the enabling of DivX Support. This’ll mean the ability to play custom movie files, whatever their being. Along with the much needed DivX support is the fact that the PS3 will now be compatible with the new 1.1. Blu-Ray Disc. It’s a welcome update and a nice little Christmas present from Sony.
