Ascaron released new gameplay details about their hack and slash RPG Hard to be a God. You’re sent from a future earth to the alien planet of Tsurinak where conveniently, they’re still stuck in the medieval ages. You can arm yourself with over 200 weapons ranging from swords, axes, bows and arrows to mini-guns, scorchers and modifiers.  With a variety of weapons on show, the game transfers this depth to your enemies with over 350 unique characters to hack down. If you find yourself outnumbered then you’ll be able to jump on your faithful steed and ride off into the distance. Hard to be a God is out the 11th April and is on PC. Head over to the official site for more information and media.

It is without a doubt that when you include its expansions and add-ons, The Sims and its hugely popular sequel The Sims 2 is the biggest game on the planet (in terms of sales). So obviously the fact that http://thesims3.ea.com/ has been created means that fans will obviously be sweating in anticipation. There’s actually nothing to see on the site minus a logo and a ‘more information coming soon’ date of March 19th but it’s a start. Cue a million more expansions when this is finally released.

Earlier in the day we ran some screenshots from Damnation, a new action shooter from Codemasters. Out in the winter, Damnation will have the standard (marketing) features of huge, open environments, frantic combat and fluid action. You’ll be playing in third person and the game is described as a ‘shooter gone vertical.’ There are three sprawling landscapes and you can get an idea of the game's look by taking a look at the screenshots linked above. The game will be out on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC late 2008. For more information head over to the official site here.

The summer months are traditionally a desert when it concerns gaming with quality titles few and far between. Luckily, those dreading 2008’s ‘quiet period’ can rejoice in the fact that Konami’s eagerly awaited Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released come June 12th. Not only will you get the fourth game in the saga on Blue-Ray but also Metal Gear Online, an online only title that is set within the locations of Metal Gear 4. Even better news is:

“With the anticipation for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Online growing at a phenomenal rate, Konami will whet appetites with a public beta version of Metal Gear Online before the release of Metal Gear Solid 4. Full details of the public beta program will be announced shortly.”
