Yesterday, the new ‘inuitive-combat’ MMO Age of Conan shipped across the UK, fulfilling its 700,000 preorder quota which 111,000 of those were collectors’ editions. Morton Larseen, Funcom’s VP of Sales and Marketing said; “Everyone in Funcom is delighted and humbled with the historical pre-order numbers for Age of Conan. If the information we have is correct, they represent the highest pre-order number for any global launch of an original PC game, ever, including the original World of Warcraft launch.” Age of Conan is also coming to Xbox 360, but we’re still without a confirmed date. It joins Rock Band’s eventual release which should keep consoles games happy for a while to come. Enjoy Age of Conan’s Launch Trailer below, (by watching it you are confirming you're 17 or older). Those still playing City of Heroes / Villains know this news already, but those ‘on a break’ should know it might be time for a revisit. Today saw the release of the Issue 12: Midnight Hour content update. It brings new Villain Epic Archetypes (Wolf Spiders and Blood Widows), new power sets (which can be seen here), and more character slots for players. It’s got two new areas inspired by the Greeks and Roman period. There’s a host of updates and tweaks to the interface as well. For those unaware of what City of Heroes / Villains is, head on over the official site. Expect our re-review along shortly. Comments (10) |

The Japanese developers Treasure have revealed that their puzzle game Bangai-O Spirits will be published in the UK on Nintendo DS in August. The game blends shooting and puzzle mechanics to recreate the classic 90’s game Bangai-O. There’s four player multiplayer across Wi-Fi, a level editor and an intriguing method of transferring data by ‘Sound Load. You’ll be able to transfer data using sound and the DS microphone which is then interpreted by the recipient DS. Interesting new technology or useless gimmick, we’ll make up our minds when it arises. In the meantime, check the screenshots below. Be first to comment this article |

With the summer gaming drought approaching, it’s likely that the charts will see little change. While this year isn’t a complete washout, it’s unlikely that the current occupier of the top spot will see challenge. Three weeks out and three weeks at number one for Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV. The split’s changed slightly with fifty-five percent for the Xbox 360 version and the remainder for the PS3. Wii Fit keeps people in shape at number two and Mario Kart Wii jumps up to number three. There are four new entries all lacklustre at best. High School Musical 2: Work This Out at number fourteen, Carnival: Funfair Games at Fifteen, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity at number sixteen and Ben 10: Protector of Earth at twenty. Don't forget: "Leisure software charts compiled by Chart Track, (C)2007 ELSPA Ltd" Be first to comment this article |
