Our review is due today, but in the meantime, Konami revealed a completely free downloadable database for Metal Gear Solid 4. It’ll be accessible from June 26th and will contain details on characters, weapons and plot from the first Metal Gear to the last. There will be a glossary, a timeline and a relationship map showing how the characters relate to each other. For those who have only played number four, it’ll be a useful addition to their hard drive, solving many in-depth plot points.  Be first to comment this article

The screenshots broke before the official press release, so make sure you check them here. There's no logo at the moment so we've made do with 2008's. Konami announced today (to little surprise) that PES09 (Pro Evolution Soccer 2009) would be arriving this autumn on PS3, PS2, PC, PSP and Xbox 360. There’s a stunning ‘graphical update’ which we hope will sort the framerate issues from PES08. There’s new tricks and improved online. No news on possible UK licences, but we’re not holding our breath. Jon Murphy, the Project Lead had this to say: “The announcement of a new PEs game is always a highlight for Konami, b PES 2009 looks set to reaffirm the series’ utter superiority. We are committed to extending the realism of the new game with a wealth of key gameplay additions, and will produce a football title that truly embodies all the skill and pace that is good about the modern game.” Comments (9) |

Ironclad Games’ strategy title which reached number one in the states has finally arrived in the UK. The game lets players choose from three factions, in order to conquer planets so that you may rule over the galaxy. It promises players immense worlds to explore with victory coming from all-out war or cultural advancement. It’s already earned glowing reviews around the world (including us who gave it a 9 ) and it’s a definite purchase for PC strategy gamers. According to this forum post (off of the official 2K forums), the activation limits for Bioshock (2007’s hit FPS) have been removed. You still have the register / activate the game online, but you’re no longer limited, allowing you to install it on as many machines as you like, legit CD-willing of course. Whether or not the original limitation helped stem the piracy of the product, we’ll never know but it’s a welcome relief for those that are genuine customers. This only applies to the PC version. This joins news today that Atari’s Alone in the Dark will feature Securom DRM, much to the disguist of the community. Comments (4) |

Nine Months after release and there’s no indication that Valve will be slowing up their support of Team Fortress 2. They’ve launched a blog to keep the community updated on the update process. It can be found here but only has one entry. The creation of the blog coincides with the release of the Pyro Update. In the update are new weapons and achievements for the Pyro Class. The unlockables include the Flare Gun, The Backburner (a new flame thrower) and the Axtinguisher (an updated axe). There are 35 achievements to collect ranging in difficulty.
