Written by Marco Fiori
Tuesday, 17 June 2008

And thus Grand Theft Auto IV falls further. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots leaps into first and it’s not a surprise considering the hype around the PS3 exclusive. It knocks down Lego Indiana Jones into second and GTAIV into third. Brain Training rises from twelfth to fifth and just below is Race Driver GRiD. New entry Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution takes number nine while Wii Fit pumps its guns at number ten. Call of Duty 4 stabilises at fourteenth and Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit occupies number twenty.

CCP are a credit to the industry, continually adding free expansions to their different, yet popular MMO, Eve Online. The latest is Eve Online: Empyrean Age which brings conflict to the tension-driven New Eden. Players are expected to choose a side in the war, which allows them to change the course of the conflict. The 19th June sees the release of a tie-in book written by Tony Gonzales, EVE: The Empyrean Age; one that is sure to please fans. Noah Ward, the lead designer at CCP had this to say;

Factional Warfare has been on the wish list for a while and we’re excited to be able to introduce it in this expansion, giving players a new framework to engage in roleplaying and PvP. The focus is on accessibility and fun. The features in Empyrean Age will appeal to players on many different levels: a tightly integrated storyline, social camaraderie, focused combat and battle statistics.”

PC News - Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir Expansion On The Way
Written by Marco Fiori

Atari let loose today that the second expansion for the popular Neverwinter Nights 2 should be arriving sometime in quarter 4. It’s called Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir and is it’s being developed by Obsidian Entertainment. It’s hoping to offer the same Dungeon and Dragons rule set action, while at the same time sending fanfare to Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale (Ed – my favourite RPGs of all time). Full party customization, dungeon crawling and new areas are all on the cards. It will coincide with the release of the Fourth Edition of the Dungeon and Dragons rule set this June.

The sword Coast is recovering from the King of Shadows and trade-syndicates are taking advantage of the post war confusion. Players will be able to explore the Chultan Peninsula in an unseen non-linear method. There’s a 15 hour campaign supposedly on offer. Assets as soon as they arrive.
