O.K. so what about the constant crash bug after 10 seconds of gameplay?

Isn't that what the vast majority of customers want? I'd rather have the game work that it being a bit prettier.

We don't create the patch, nor do we quality assure the product. We get the patches sent to us to upload.

If it's a wide spread crash it'll be fixed, otherwise it might just be your machine.

Is this the announced patch reducing effects for not 10.1 directx cards?

Sure thing. As I said before like O' Hara my game crashes and I have bought a proper copy from 'Game'. After installing the patch the game still crashes. I thought ubi would have fixed the problem because it is a big thing (lots of other all have similar problems with the fatal blue screen coming up with error message 'nv4_disp'. On other forums they suggest the cause is due to the video card.
I just didn't like the other guy saying the ridiculous stuff to Mr. O' Hara when I and many others have the same problem

Sorry to hear that the patch doesn't solve the problem. Expect the follow up patch (if there is one) here as soon as it appears.

Thanks, I was just wondering if others still had the same problem or if it had fixed it.
Was also wondering about the directX 10.1 didn't understand what was going on about that

The only people who are having crashes "every 10 seconds" are people who have a pirated copy of the game. I haven't read a SINGLE review that says the game constantly crashes. At most, throughout the ENTIRE game, it crashes like twice. That's how many times it crashed for me. People need to stop giving this game a bad rep because they have an illegal version of it.

I'm not trying to give it a bad rep. Once its working for me it will be a great game and boy can't I wait. but it keeps it keeps crashing and I definitely bought it from 'game'. If you want I'll show you a copy of the receipt.
As well as that go to this address http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4721051016/m/8621001056

Its the ubisoft forum and the guys there try to explain it. Because it looks like the ubisoft guys understand this is a real problem thats happening on legal copies of the game so rather than accusing us of having illegal versions. shut your trap and go to the ubisoft forum. So don't give me any bull about no one else saying it crashed because the evidence is there. Go to the site and read what others have said and how ubisoft are responding to it.

I'll be waiting for your reply once you've been to that site and read all the messages. In fact I'd also like an apology because my copy is legal and I would never get a pirated version (i consider it wrong and I don't trust that it would work)

"lots of other all have similar problems with the fatal blue screen coming up with error message 'nv4_disp'. "

nv4_disp.dll is the main display driver in the current forceware series of drivers from NVidia. If you're getting this message, chances are your computer either a) does not have the minimum required shader model capabilities to play Assassins Creed or b) needs newer / beta drivers. Your best bet is to either try beta versions of the forceware drivers or go back to earlier, more stable versions.

Don't be such noobs, blaming Ubi because your graphics cards can't handle the rendering methods. Bloody hell.

I also notice on the ubi forum practically everyone experiencing this problem is a Vista user and their only advice is to reinstall your graphics drivers, further evidence that supports the feeling that Vista is just not ready for games. DX10 or not, I'd rather play a game all the way through on DX9 than get 15 seconds of crappy overlay effects before my PC owns itself into oblivion. It's not as if DX10 is even that impressive when compared to DX9 to be honest. Get XP, play Assassins Creed, be happy.

I checked on this website which scans you computer and tells you if the game will work (in fact it was the ubi website that directed me there) and I'm pretty sure I've got shader models 3.0 but not 4.0. I also have XP not Vista but thanks for your advice. I don't even know the difference between DX10 and DX9. I'm also not trying to blame ubi but it does look like its their fault because the problem is happening with all the different models of Nvidia cards. Its possible they just didn't test it out for nvidia cards but thats an unlikely theory. At least your reply was serious and tried to answer my problem rather than just saying I was a cheapskate that bought a pirated version. Hopefully the next patch that comes out will mean I'll be able to play it.

I was running an E6600 on a 7900 GTO. Today I bought a xFX 9800XT black edition card which has Assassins Creed as part of the package. Offical enough for you ?

Played the game - BSOD after 3-5 minutes
Patched the game - BSOD after 3-5 Minutes
Updated Direct X to the march 2008 version - BSOD 2 minutes
Updated Video card drivers to the latest version - BSOD after 10-20 minutes

Do I get a BSOD in other games - NO
Does this game have a stability issue - OBVIOUSLY

Hi, looks like you guys are having some problems. But here this... I just bought the game today and I can't even install it because of the classic 'feature transfer error' message. I tried installing it several times to different locations, but nothing seemed to work. I know this isn't strictly on topic, but I was wondering if there was anything I could do to solve this?

Download the patch, extract the file with a program like winzip or winrar and then use the exe in the folder.

That should patch the game up.
